Tour details
- A Traditional Japanese Home Experience….. Our home is a 60-year-old traditional Japanese house made of wood, featuring tatami rooms and a welcoming guest room designed to host visitors with warmth and respect. This is a place where Japanese culture has been cherished for generations, and it offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere perfect for reflection and leaning.
- Your Host: A Passion for Culture….. I have traveled to over 20 countries and lived in Australia on a working holiday, so l understand the importance of experiencing a culture from a local perspective. I have a deep love for Japanese culture, and I’m excited to share it with you. I can speak in English, and I will guide you through the entire experience, ensuring you feel comfortable and engaged.
- Calligraphy: A Journey into Japanese Tradition….. I have been practicing calligraphy for many years, and my father is an expert who regularly showcases his work in exhibitions. Calligraphy, or “shodo,” is not only an art form but a way to quiet the mind and focus the spirit. It is a meditative practice that honors the balance of simplicity and beauty. You will learn about the history and the philosophy behind calligraphy, practice writing with traditional brushes, and create your own calligraphy on a fan as a personalized souvenir.
- Family Farming Tradition….. Our family has been running a small farm for generations. My grandmother, father, and mother work together to grow a variety of seasonal vegetables, with a special focus on Mitsuba, a local specialty from the city of Kaizuka. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to explore the farm, interact with the crops, and learn about sustainable farming practices. The vegetables you see may vary depending on the season, so you’ll have a fresh, unique experience every time you visit.
- The Spirit of Japanese Hospitality….. At the heart of our experience is the Japanese concept of “Omotenashi” — the spirit of hospitality. This means not only offering a warm welcome but also respecting your needs, understanding your background, and making you feel at home. In Japan, we believe that hospitality is not just about providing a service, but about creating a connection, and this is the atmosphere we strive to create during your visit.
- A Unique Cultural Immersion….. Our family embraces the Japanese spirit of hospitality and the values of respect, gratitude, and simplicity. Throughout the tour, you will experience first-hand how we incorporate these values into our daily lives, whether it’s through the tranquility of calligraphy, the warmth of our home, or the dedication to our farm. This is your chance to immerse yourself in authentic Japanese culture and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to live in harmony with nature, art, and community.
